John,
This year has been a turning point for our movement because of supporters like you. Together, we made sure that our leaders in Congress, statehouses, and local governments don't look away from our gun violence crisis.
We passed the first significant federal gun safety legislation in nearly three decades, expanded our Gun Sense Majority in the Senate, and proved that gun safety is a winning issue at the ballot box. We helped pass over 50 gun safety laws at the state and local level and beat the gun lobby's agenda in statehouses 95 percent of the time.
Because of your support this year, we are now able to expand our work even more. And we want to let you know about an exciting new area of our work:
Gun laws save lives—but only when they're implemented and enforced. We've seen this truth borne out in the recent mass shootings in Buffalo, Highland Park, and Colorado Springs. In each of these tragedies, the shooter exhibited deeply troubling behavior and was able to keep his guns because no one around him made use of their state's red flag law.
To bridge this gap, the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund recently launched the Everytown Implementation Center. The Center is a first-of-its-kind effort to provide comprehensive support and guidance to state and local leaders on how to effectively implement gun laws—and the initial focus will be red flag laws.
With your continued support, we are going to continue to fight that much harder for life-saving gun safety measures. Learn more about our gun violence prevention work today >>
Thank you for being with us. We couldn't do this work without your support.
