This year we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act — a monumental piece of legislation intended to “restore and maintain the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the Nation’s waters.”
But 50 years later, an unprecedented climate emergency is fueling extreme weather, worsening sewage overflows and dumping toxic waste disproportionately in low-resource communities across the country. Our water infrastructure is decaying after decades of neglect, and the health and safety of people across the country is at stake.
We’re fighting for strong, permanent federal investment in our drinking water and wastewater infrastructure – because equitable access to clean, safe water for all is vital. We all deserve clean water.
John, your gift to Food & Water Action will support our work to improve water quality, affordability and access, and promote climate resilience. Your gift will be MATCHED $2-to-$1!

Food & Water Action has been at the forefront of national efforts for massive federal investment in our public water infrastructure. Last year we secured $55 billion in federal funds for water infrastructure in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law but our fight is far from over. We won’t stop until we have full funding to replace our nation's old, lead-ridden water pipes, aided towns facing contamination from toxic chemicals like per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances ( PFAS), and addressed our water affordability crisis.
Safe water is non-negotiable. Affordable water is non-negotiable. Clean drinking water is a human right.
Join our fight for safe, affordable drinking water for all. Your donation will be matched $2-to-$1. That means for every $1 you give, a generous group of donors will add $2, up to $250,000.
