Donald Trump should be prosecuted by the United States Department of Justice.

That’s the just-announced determination of the congressional January 6th Committee, which moments ago concluded its final hearing on efforts to keep Trump in power illegally despite his loss in the 2020 election.

The bipartisan committee — through interviews with more than 1,000 witnesses and over the course of 10 high-profile public hearings — has established beyond a shadow of doubt that many individuals committed numerous crimes on and leading up to Trump’s attempted coup on January 6, 2021.

Including Donald Trump himself.

And so the January 6th Committee — in accordance with the fundamental principle of checks and balances baked into our nation’s founding — is presenting its evidence to the U.S. Department of Justice and recommending that Trump (and others) be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Join Public Citizen in sending this critical message to the Department of Justice:

The January 6th Committee is right. If democracy and the rule of law are to mean anything going forward, Donald Trump must be held accountable. The Department of Justice must prosecute Donald Trump for any and all crimes he committed in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.
