Republicans in Lansing want to pass legislation that would restrict thousands of women here in Michigan from accessing comprehensive reproductive health care services. And just last week, more than 200 Republicans signed a letter asking the Supreme Court to reconsider the decision in Roe v. Wade.

A woman exercising her constitutionally protected right to choose is a private decision that should be decided between a woman and her doctor. But Lansing Republicans feel otherwise.

I’ll veto any legislation that does not protect and infringes upon a woman’s constitutional right to make her own decisions about if and when to become a parent.

We need 10,000 citizen co-sponsors to sign on TODAY to demand that Republicans take their hands off women’s reproductive healthcare. Will you add your name right now?

The government -- state or federal -- should never come between a woman and her health care provider. As your Governor, I will continue to protect every woman’s right to autonomy over her own body and ensure that women everywhere have full control of their health care choices.

These are difficult times, but I’m ready to face our challenges head-on.
