What is Employment First?
Employment First means that employment in the general workforce should be the first and preferred option for individuals with disabilities receiving assistance from publicly-funded systems.

Last week I included information from the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) News Brief that had links to the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) database and a webinar.? I received a correction after I sent out the KCDC Disability News message.? Here are the corrected links.?

Federal employees: Register to view the WRP talent database

Federal employees: Register for a WRP federal employer webinar

The Workforce Recruitment Program interviews college students and graduates with disabilities for inclusion in their database of job seekers with disabilities.? They make the database available to federal employers, but also other employers can access the database to find qualified job seekers with disabilities.? If you are not a federal employer, but are interested in finding qualified job seekers with disabilities who are in college or have graduated from college, reach out to WRP for information about how you can access the database.??

If you are a college student or graduate with a disability and are interested in being included in the database, please reach out to WRP to find out how to be included.??
