Hola,
We haven’t been formally introduced yet. I’m Pita Juarez, and I’m excited to be the new Vice President of Communications at LGBTQ Victory Institute. I’ll be in touch to share updates on the exciting work our team is doing – and of course, share news about our LGBTQ leaders and their latest accomplishments.
Like many of you, Victory Institute’s mission to power a global LGBTQ political movement is deeply personal to me. As a queer immigrant documentarian, organizer and storyteller, I’ve seen firsthand the power an out voice can have when speaking to power. And I’ve seen what happens when our voices are left out of the conversation.
Now, I’m ready to dive headfirst into my new role – and ensure that Victory Institute has the resources to keep training and supporting LGBTQ leaders in 2023. Join me in making an End of Year donation and power LGBTQ political power for years to come!
Here’s what we’re working on: the team will be training a new group of LGBTQ leaders and their staff to run for political office in 2023 and 2024. We’re working to recruit a new wave of LGBTQ leaders through our Presidential Appointments Initiative to join President Biden’s administration. Our Global team is hosting trainings in eight countries — the most in our organization’s history — as well as hosting the 6th Conference of LGBTI Political Leaders of the Americas and the Caribbean in Mexico City.
And we’re preparing for the future. We’ll be fighting to ensure our LGBTQ elected officials have the support, resources and knowledge they need to repeal anti-LGBTQ bills – while fighting for bills that improve the lives of all constituents.
Right now, we can lay the groundwork to protect equality in 2023 and keep winning all the way to 2024. Pitch in today to power the 2023 rainbow wave and keep Victory Institute’s work going strong!
I know you know how important this work is, and I couldn’t be more excited to join this vibrant community and fight this essential fight.
Thank you for standing with us.
Pita Juarez
