The progress you make possible through your commitment to protect public lands and create parks is real–and your impact on communities across the nation is lasting. In one of our ongoing projects in Los Angeles, the residents of the South Gate neighborhood are looking forward to an incredible change
coming to their area. With the help of friends like you, we’ve planned a seven-acre oasis—the Urban Orchard—in a community along the Los Angeles River that’s long been neglected.
Once fully funded and complete, residents in South Gate—who previously had limited access to parks and green spaces near their homes—will enjoy the beauty of the Urban Orchard, including:
Seven acres of parkland with walking/running/biking trails, grassy fields, and wetlands that will filter polluted water to be reused on-site;
Two hundred fruit trees and community vegetable gardens to nourish the community;
Thirty long-term job opportunities for local youth.
Your tax-deductible year-end gift helps fund life-changing projects like the Urban Orchard, create parks where they’re needed most, and protect public land for public good—so that everyone will have access to the benefits and joys of the outdoors for generations to come.
Sincerely,
