John, are you waiting on holiday gifts that still haven't arrived in the mail? Has one of your packages been lost in the mail? If the answer is yes, you're not alone.

In the midst of a busy holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service is facing major delays and service issues. And these problems aren't just impacting our holiday deliveries. The Postal Service is a critical part of our society. It connects us when we are far apart from the people we love; it delivers us the prescription medication we depend on; and it makes sure that millions of us can cast our election ballots.

So that’s why it hurts so much to watch our Postal Service not be at its best.

The problems facing the USPS aren't new: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has spent far too long mismanaging our Postal Service. During the height of the pandemic – a time when families were counting on the USPS more than ever before – he intentionally slowed mail delivery. Before the 2020 election, he ordered the removal of HUNDREDS of high-speed mail sorting machines. Now, he’s announced plans to cut postal office hours and close hundreds of USPS locations!

These decisions are wrong for our USPS, and families are facing the consequences.

Especially as consumers deal with longer delivery times and lost packages ahead of the holiday season, we can’t let this total mismanagement stand. I need to show my colleagues in the Senate that Americans won't stand for this. So please, will you respond to my live poll before 11:59 p.m. tonight to make your voice heard for the USPS?

Do you trust Postmaster General Louis DeJoy with our USPS?

Thanks for standing with me on this one.

The fight continues,

Tom
