Dear John,
It was a busy week in Washington, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how
I am fighting for our conservative values.
I’d like to congratulate Congressman Jim Jordan (OH-04), who will take on the
mantle of House Judiciary Chairman. The American people deserve truth and
transparency. I am encouraged that his tenure will bring much-needed oversight
to this administration.
On Thursday, the Senate approved a one-week stop-gap funding bill that averted
a partial government shutdown. This is highly frustrating. While the government
must meet its obligations, the Democrats had all year to meet this deadline and
could not get the job done. It shows you how broken this Democrat-led Congress
is that it needs continuing resolutions and omnibus bills to fund the federal
government.
The House passed legislation to honor the memories of Minnesota National
Guardsmen Charles Nord (Perham), James Rogers (Winsted), and Kort Miller
(Avon), who were tragically killed after their helicopter experienced engine
failure. The legacies of these patriots are carried on by their families and
communities, so it was an honor to advance these bills in the House to rename
the post offices in their respective cities. I am hopeful for their passage in
the Senate next week.
Speaking of remembering, honoring, and thanking our military service members,
today is Wreaths Across America Day to place wreaths on the graves of our
veterans. Thank you to local volunteers in the old and new MN-07 for organizing
wreath-laying events in Bemidji, Detroit Lakes, Little Falls, Montevideo,
Osakis, Oslo, and West Union. You can find information about the sponsoring
organizations in each community and how to donate for next year’s WAA Day at

As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!
Ope! What a game! #skol
With gratitude,

P.S. John, Over the last two years—and again this week—we’ve seen that our
country cannot afford to be run by the Left. Soon, the House will be able to
try and reverse some of the damage they have wrought. That is why I ran for
Congress—to stand up for the values of the 7th Congressional District. Any
amount you contribute will help us continue to fight for fiscal restraint and
personal liberties.
