4. Two states expanded voting rights of convicted felons in December

We track laws regarding voting rights for convicted felons, which vary substantially from state to state. Both Kentucky and New Jersey expanded voting rights for convicted felons last month.  

5. President Trump has appointed the second-most federal judges at this point in his presidency

Through Dec. 31, 2019, the Senate confirmed 187 Article III federal judges appointed by President Trump. Only Jimmy Carter (D)—who appointed 197 federal judges—had more.
