Since the Moore v. Harper oral argument in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, news media predict that lawmakers are hoping it will give them “free rein to do whatever they want, whenever they want, when it comes to drawing congressional district lines” -- but advocates like us are standing strong to make sure that legislators’ hunger for power doesn’t gnaw away at voters’ rights.
In states like Ohio, lawmakers are awaiting the outcome of Moore v. Harper to use the decision as leverage to undermine voting accessibility. Their tactics aim to diminish the work we’ve done together across this country to help ensure fair representation, fair elections, and all voices are heard in courts and at the ballot box.
John -- it's clear that these lawmakers want absolute power for personal gain. Our work continues to stand behind the power of the people and the importance of advocating for voters in places like North Carolina and Ohio.
We must put an end to the corrupt ideals that fail to strengthen our democracy and those ideals that disregard the people in this country that prevail over us -- no more lawless lawmakers. Make a donation today and support our work as we begin this next chapter.
