John --

This past Thursday, I stood on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, and delivered my final speech after 12 years in Congress.

If you don't have time to watch, here are two big takeaways:

1) Had I known that standing up for the truth would cost me my job, friendships, and even my personal security, I would -- without hesitation -- do it all over again.

2) I'm not going anywhere. Our work together to defend democracy, stand up for the truth, and save our republic is just getting started.

When I think back to my first run for Congress, I'd just come home from war, and truly believed American democracy was infallible. With all that generations before us had accomplished, I thought we'd be summiting new mountains instead of fighting in a ditch.

But we've gotten stuck, and if you're reading this email, you likely agree.

And it's no wonder our democracy isn't functioning when one party's megaphone echoes calls for civil war, and the other party verbally condemns yet financially supports the bad actors across the aisle. How does this road lead anywhere good?  We know deep down that it can't.

BUT, the good news is there are off ramps to better roads; our future isn't written in stone.  Country First is building the freeway to bring our parties and nation back to sanity, before it's too late.

It will be up to the Reasonable Majority -- the Americans looking for solutions, not lies -- to ditch apathy, to embrace hope, and to cling tightly to the great promise that is America.

We must not crumble under the gravity of this moment.

And while my time in Congress is coming to an end, I stand here renewing the promise I made a dozen years ago to leave this country a far better place than the one I inherited, not only for my son Christian, but for all of our kids and grandkids.

So let's do it, together.

Country First,

Adam
