Three men convicted of numerous charges in one of the largest poaching cases in Wyoming history

Three men were charged with more than 100 wildlife violations in one of the largest poaching cases in Wyoming history. The felony and misdemeanor charges were the result of a seven-year, multi-agency investigation spanning four states and involving thousands of hours of investigations and efforts by state and federal wildlife law enforcement officers, county and federal prosecutors, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department forensic laboratory personnel and others.

Many of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Wildlife Habitat Management Areas are closing to human presence ? or already have ?? for the season to provide protections for wildlife on their winter ranges. The majority of WHMAs close or have restrictions for the winter annually.

Game and Fish launches 5-year mule deer monitoring project

Biologists at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department know a significant amount of information about mule deer and what impacts their overall success from decades of research and data collection. Through their research they are well aware weather, habitat and chronic wasting disease affect Wyoming?s mule deer populations. These environmental factors play a significant role in the population fluctuation of mule deer. But in the last 30 years, mule deer populations have declined to a point that is worrisome to wildlife managers and the public.
