There are reports out of Washington, DC that Congress is nearing a deal on an end-of-year spending bill that rejects cuts in human needs programs―and possibly includes needed investments in housing, education, children’s mental health, low income heating assistance, affordable high-quality child care, and much more.
In the face of massive right-wing opposition, how did we stop cuts to programs that help working- and low-income families? Activism!
CHN has led a coalition of national allies in sending nearly 200,000 messages to members of Congress, just in the last few weeks, demanding investments in our families and communities.
