John,

I ran for Governor of Maryland for people like my dad.

When I was three, my dad was feeling sick and went to the hospital.

But his face was unshaven, his clothes disheveled, his name unfamiliar, and his address not in an affluent area.

The hospital staff asked my mom if he was prone to exaggerations and sent him home.

And 24 hours later, unable to get the care he needed, he died of a completely treatable virus.

I ran for people like my mom.

My mom did everything right.

Widowed as a young mother, she did everything she could to take care of my sisters and me.

But it wasn’t until I was 14 that she found a job that actually paid her benefits.

I’m running for our kids.

In Maryland, we have some of the best schools in the country — and some of the most underfunded.

I believe every kid should have the opportunity to succeed, no matter what circumstances they’re born into or zip code they live in.

John, this movement is about people like you.

It’s about making sure that every family in Maryland has opportunity.

It’s also about fighting for our basic human rights and stopping far-right extremism from moving us backward. Protecting abortion access, raising the minimum wage, safeguarding our democracy and right to vote, defending our LGBTQ community, stopping gun violence, acting on climate change, and so much more.

I know what we’re fighting for — who we’re fighting for. Since you elected me Governor of Maryland, I’m working hard to deliver. But we have to keep up our momentum along the way.

If you’re able to, will you make a grassroots donation of $10 or more today to fuel our movement forward while I serve you in Annapolis?

Thanks for anything you can give to help us change the future of Maryland for the better, for all.

Elevate,

Wes
