Biden Continues to Expel Haitians to Danger

On December 13th, the Biden administration conducted yet another removal flight to Haiti, carrying an estimated 26 people.  

This comes just a week after DHS Secretary Mayorkas redesignated and extended TPS for Haiti, citing "socioeconomic challenges, political instability, and gang violence and crime" as the rationale for the humanitarian relief. Those who arrive after the announcement date of November 6, 2022 are not eligible for this protection.

Quixote Center Solidarity Travel to Mexico and Guatemala

Join us and the Franciscan Network on Migration as we visit migrant shelters in Tenosique, Mexico and El Ceibo, Guatemala to examine first-hand the impact of U.S. policy on Mexico's immigration enforcement on its southern border.

United in Prayer for Haiti

Join the PTPA and USCMA in a prayer for Haiti. United in Prayer for Haiti will be on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 7 pm ET. Here is the registration link. PTPA is a national network of parishes that have twinning relationships between parishes in Haiti and Latin America and parishes in the United States of America. The United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) is a community of faith leaders engaged in networking, formation, and advocacy for God's mission.

This week we are featuring Mexican American artist Francisco Javier Palomares. Based in East Los Angeles, Francisco Javier Palomares specializes in oil painting. His works draw upon his lived experiences, combining historical Palomares is currently an associate artist educator at LA Commons where he directs a team of youth artists in the collection of community stories to create and prepare designs for printed banners.
