It’s an exciting time in the Schwarzenegger-Pratt household. We are getting our house decorated with twinkle lights and getting ready to gather as a family. Let us give you just one example of how our movement for inclusion is making BIG waves. Earlier this year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hired an incredible Special Olympics athlete, Nick, as a paid production assistant on the film through our Unified Leadership training program! He is now a production assistant on Chris’ current film, Electric State. Nick is already looking forward to working on the set of another film next year, and has aspirations to work in the film industry as a result of this experience.

The Special Olympics Unified Leadership training program shows leaders without disabilities how to make their organizations more inclusive. It isn’t about giving people with ID token representation; it’s about the chance to have meaningful roles and responsibilities! 

And remember — none of this would be possible without the amazing work of Special Olympics athletes. Through the power of sport, athletes are showing the world what people with ID are capable of, and frankly, it’s awesome!
