John,
My name is Gilbert Deans Jr., and I am the Chief Operating Officer at Color Of Change, the largest online racial justice organization in the nation with 7 million members.
With the help of grassroots actions — and donations — from our most committed members, John, I’ve witnessed Color Of Change campaigns live up to our promise of creating a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.
COC Business Operations would like to uplift our commitment to Black educators and youth this holiday season by asking you to make a powerful end-of-year donation. Your donation will support initiatives such as our nationwide Children’s Carnival, the “I Am Joy” holiday pop-up events spreading cheer to youths in the foster care system and future programs that support Black families, educators and children.
For the three years I’ve been with Color Of Change, I’ve been blessed to work at a place that has become known for winning campaigns that rewrite rules, change narratives and transform the lives of Black people. We’ve delivered big wins with you by our side, and I know it’s possible for us to achieve even more in the next four years.
But John, my experience working in non-profit organizations has shown me that end-of-year fundraising is tough. Our team is data-driven and has been reviewing our year-end financials and here’s what I’m seeing: Our goal of raising $60,000 before the end of the week is a stretch, but it’s possible with folks like you stepping up with a powerful donation before the end of the year.
Will you chip in $25 to our end-of-the-year fundraising sprint to support our future programs that uplift and celebrate Black families and youth? We’re not accepting a cent from corporations or crypto executives who don’t share our values. We’re building power in a different way, one that puts our families first and profits last.
Thank you for helping us celebrate families, youth, and our dedicated educators who are under tremendous pressure this holiday season. We’re grateful for your continued support and appreciate you for sticking with us for as long as you have.
Until Justice Is Real,
Gilbert Deans, Jr. (he/him) Chief Operating Officer Color Of Change
