This will be our last newsletter of 2022, and what a year it was! Brenda and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! During this joyous season, I pray that you take time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will have our nation in our prayers along with each of you as we celebrate Christmas. I wish you all peace, joy, wisdom, courage, faith, and love this Christmas season! We hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday season!

As we near the final days of one-party Democrat rule in Washington, House Democrats are working to ram through trillions of dollars in new reckless spending to fund the failed Far Left agenda that the American people have already rejected. 

Instead of listening to the will of the American people and passing a continuing resolution into the new year, House Democrats passed a short-term Continuing Resolution and will vote on a bloated omnibus package in the final days of their Lame Duck Congress.

Rather than properly governing, House Democrats cut out House Republicans every step of the way and delayed a final appropriations bill until after the election to hide their reckless agenda. 

Now, as the clock runs out, we know Democrats’ Far Left wish list will NOT prioritize securing our southern border or ending the wasteful spending that has left families struggling to balance their budgets. 

MAKE NO MISTAKE: House Republicans will hold the line. The American people have already spoken—-they want a NEW direction. In just 18 days, House Republicans will use the power of the purse to provide a check on the Biden administration, rein in reckless spending, and work to restore fiscal sanity in Washington.

Americans deserve better than Democrats' Lame-Duck Giveaways. I will vote against the omnibus. 

This week, I joined 20 of my GOP colleagues to demand that the House moves to impeach Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas in the next Congress. Secretary Mayorkas has released more than 1 million illegal aliens into the country and has lost operational control of the southern border. 

Under President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas, the southern border is in crisis:

• Over 4 million illegal border crossings so far under the Biden administration, not including the thousands of daily “got-aways” who evade capture
• Over 107 terrorism suspects have crossed our borders under Biden
• Thousands of pounds of deadly fentanyl have flooded across the border, as drug overdose deaths hit a record high last year – fueled by fentanyl

Despite these alarming statistics, Secretary Mayorkas actually testified recently that “yes” the southern border is secure – it is not.

Secretary Mayorkas has acted with impeachable conduct. He has failed to secure our border. He has endangered Americans. And in doing so, violated his oath to the constitution. We must impeach Mayorkas.

• H.J.Res. 102 - Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Veterans Affairs relating to "Reproductive Health Services".
• H.R. 9554 - To prohibit the use of Federal funds to negotiate or contribute to international agreements that provide for "loss and damage" funds as a result of climate change.
