We already know that reproductive rights will be the first thing on the chopping block when the 118th Congress convenes on Jan. 3. For decades, Republicans have schemed to overturn Roe v. Wade – and now that they have achieved that, House Republicans will not miss the opportunity to attempt to pass a federal ban on abortion.

Because, while we defended and expanded our Senate majority despite the odds, we unfortunately lost control of the U.S. House – and House Republicans are gearing up for their reign. One of the first things they're sure to push for is a federal ban on reproductive choice across the country.

That's why, from the moment that I realized the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade, I've pushed in the Senate to federally legalize abortion – and I'm proud to say that New Mexico has become a safe haven for reproductive freedom.

But, friend, this battle is far from over. With 2023 just around the corner, I need Americans like you to stand up for reproductive freedom – before the GOP passes an abortion ban in the House.
