Members of Congress are allowed to trade stocks and get rich off of
information they learn while serving in Congress: it’s BS, and it needs to
stop.

I’ve introduced legislation to crack down on this corruption and ban
Members of Congress and their families from stock trading.

It’s not hard to understand why we need to pass this legislation. Even my
kids could explain to you why congressional stock trading isn’t fair. And
it erodes trust in our elect officials, at a time when trust in Congress
and our institutions is already low.

But it’s difficult to convince some of my colleagues—who themselves have
benefitted from stock trading—to hold ourselves accountable solely to the
people we represent. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up, and thanks to you
I’ll be returning to Congress to continue this fight.
