Wright Brothers Day: December 17

On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted the first flight for 12 seconds and flew 120 feet. On the fourth and final flight, Wilbur flew 59 seconds and 852 feet.

Bill of Rights Day (1791): December 15

The first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution focus on individual rights and were ratified on December 15, 1791. Amendment I protects freedom of expression.

Virginia 245th Anniversary ? First State to Ratify the Articles of Confederation (1777): December 16

The Articles needed approval from all 13 states. First was Virginia on December 16, 1777, and last was Maryland on March 1, 1781. Three years, two months, and 14 days had passed.

New Jersey 235th Anniversary of Statehood (1787): December 18

New Jersey ratified the U.S. Constitution on December 18, 1787. It was the third of the original 13 colonies to join the Union. Nickname: The Garden State. Motto: Liberty and prosperity.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: November 20 ? December 18

Saturday is the Third Place game of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 between Croatia and Morocco. Sunday is the final game between Argentina and France. France won the last World Cup in 2018.

Homeless Persons? Memorial Day: December 21

On a single night in January 2021, HUD reported 326,126 people experienced sheltered homelessness in the U.S. This is an eight percent decrease from 2020.
