Millions of us have spent the last few days trying to do all we can to stop Trump from launching all-out war on Iran. We've been speaking out, calling Congress, organizing, and taking to the streets.

But at the same time we were doing all of this, one "Democratic" member of Congress has been working against us and siding with Donald Trump in his deranged march to war:

Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar.

Over the last few days, Henry Cuellar called Trump's drone strike against an Iranian general "a necessary step." His campaign accused opponents of "standing with Iran and defending terrorism."

We can — and must — do better than this. That’s why we at WFP are so proud to endorse Jessica Cisneros and her primary campaign to unseat Trump's favorite Democrat.

This is far from the first time that Henry Cuellar has shown his true colors. Just take a look at his track record, and tell me you can name any alleged “Democrat” more unfit to hold office:

He has an A rating from the NRA.
He votes with Trump nearly 70% of the time, according to FiveThirtyEight.
He repeatedly voted to support the racist border wall.
He repeatedly voted to defund reproductive services for women.
He accepted $166,000 from Big Oil, $32,000 from the private prison lobby, and $10,000 from the Koch brothers.
And he's using Republican talking points to support Trump’s dangerous, unconstitutional march to war with Iran.

But here’s the good news: Jessica Cisneros is an INCREDIBLE challenger. She’s a 26 year old Latinx woman running on an unapologetic platform. And her campaign is no long-shot either. She has strong support, including endorsements from scores of local and national grassroots organizations and progressive leaders like AOC and Elizabeth Warren.

Our organizers on the ground in Texas keep saying that the race is winnable, so long as we ramp up our grassroots organizing.

That’s why the grassroots fundraising and organizing we do right now is so crucial. Jessica Cisneros will need to rapidly scale up her campaign and beat Cuellar with people power.
