Lt. Gov. Crouch speaks at 31st

Dentons Legislative Conference

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 15, 2022) ??Just weeks before she gavels in the Indiana Senate to begin the 123rd Indiana General Assembly, Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch was a featured panelist today during the 31st Dentons Legislative Conference today at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The annual conference is an opportunity for attendees to get a preview of key issues that are expected to be discussed during the upcoming legislative session.?The event attracts professionals in areas of law, business,?

?industry, higher education, public education and government service including mayors, county and municipal leaders, legislators, lobbyists, school superintendents and the Statehouse press corps.??

?It was an honor to be invited to participate at the Denton Legislative Conference this year,? said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, who also serves as the Indiana Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. ?The conference is the premier event to hear about key issues in the state and what to expect in the upcoming legislative session.?

Lt. Gov. Crouch participated on a panel to discuss mental health and addiction issues. Serving on the panel with the Lieutenant Governor were New Haven, Indiana Mayor Steve McMichael, Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis Vice President Kevin Rudd and Stone Street Group Partner Ryan Kaczka.

As a co-chair of the Indiana Roundtable on Mental Health, Lt. Gov. Crouch has made the fight against mental health and addiction issues a primary focus during her second term.

?We are battling a mental health and addiction crisis here in Indiana,? Lt. Gov. Crouch said. ?One out of five Hoosiers struggles with mental health or addiction, including members of my own family. So, this fight is also personal for me. We are working hard to make treatment and recovery more accessible and affordable.?

The Lieutenant Governor serves as President of the Indiana Senate, Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, chairs the Indiana Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Task Force & Indiana Roundtable on Mental Health, and oversees four state agencies.
