Fantastic news: the Respect For Marriage Act is now law! This historic bill marks a huge step forward for protecting all Americans' right to marry who they love, no matter how they identify. Love always wins, and today it has scored one of its biggest wins yet.

I have always been so proud to be a part of the fight for progress on civil rights every step of the way, whether it’s voting to assure marriage equality, standing up for abortion rights, working toward greater racial equity, and more. But the fight for LGBTQ+ equality does not stop at the Respect For Marriage Act.

MAGA Republicans’ brazen attacks on the LGBTQ+ community around the country are ongoing, and we have to fight back. Not only did a hefty majority of the GOP vote against marriage equality, but they are also trying to ban all discussion of LGBTQ+ topics in school and are inspiring hateful attacks against LGBTQ+ people and their safe spaces.
