Dear John,

This year A is For marked 10 years of busting abortion stigma. We also saw the fall of Roe v. Wade. Through this incredibly difficult time, youhave continued to hold us up, amplify our work, and support our small, grassroots organization.

We set an ambitious fundraising goal of raising $200,000 this year to support our Beneficiaries Program which provides monthly funding to abortion clinics and funds across the country, as well as our creative initiatives including our original Comic Book Series, and our annual Playwriting Contest and ONE-ACT Play Festival.

We are so close to reaching our goal, and our amazing A is For Board member and Oscar Winner Ariana DeBose has agreed to match all donations up to $10,000 through the end of the year.

Ariana is an artist and an activist. She has been a tireless champion for LGBTQ+ and abortion rights, sharing in the Advocate, “The only thing I can do is hold on to my joy and make a difference at a local level. So I’m trying to find the abortion funds in my community that I can support so I can help anyone with a uterus. I want to encourage folks to research, get involved. But do your part, because this is not about one set of rights; it’s about human rights.”

The end of Roe v. Wade doesn’t mean the end for abortion rights –– it’s just the beginning. Join A is For as we work to eradicate abortion stigma and support abortion access on the ground.
