Your gift the holiday season means a lot to a child in our care. Just one example is that it may be used to get a holiday present for a child. ❤️ Giving gifts to survivors in Love146's care goes beyond a kind gesture. For many children we work, a lot of choices have been made for them in the past. As a Love146 Survivor Care staff member explains in this clip, letting youth choose their own gift is dignifying. Watch this clip to learn more about Love146 gift-giving and our thought process behind this tradition.

Significant outcome evaluations have kicked-off for Love146’s Prevention Education and Survivor Care programs, conducted by the University of New Hampshire’s Crimes Against Children Research Center, and funded by the CDC and Department of Justice.

Love146 will be one of the first anti-trafficking organizations in the US to undergo rigorous outcome evaluations that are independently conducted by a third party, and are outcomes-based using a control group. We’ve been working towards this for years – and it’s a huge step forward not just for Love146, but for the entire anti-trafficking field.

LEARN WHY ([link removed])

Your generosity is changing the world for a young person like Kayla.* After years of experiencing poverty and suffering abuse, Kayla was introduced to her trafficker by friends at age 13. She developed substance dependencies to survive exploitation and struggled with thoughts of wanting to die. Kayla was eventually referred to Love146. Some time later, she reflected, “I felt trapped before, but with Love146 I finally felt free. I know I’m important and meant for great things.”

In a new video, Love146's Co-founder & CEO shares a holiday message about how some things never change, despite our rapidly morphing world. He shares, "The kids in our care have experienced some of the worst abuse imaginable. But when you give, you ensure that a child impacted by trafficking can get the dependable love and support that they need to recover."

Justine* is one of the many children served by our Survivor Care programs. Justine loves spending time watching documentaries, making art and music, and doing Zumba. She’s one of the most artistic young people in the safe home. She also took this photo. She shared, “When I’m sad, I look at the beautiful colors of the sky and work my imagination around the shapes formed by the clouds. This gives me peace. When I focus on the colors of the sky and the large clouds, the world seems more quiet. In my life, I received peace when I was freed from the abuses I experienced."

Our friends at Dressember made a documentary about their global movement to end human trafficking. Dressember is an annual December fundraiser, where people dress up everyday throughout the month to raise money for programs that address human trafficking. We're proud to partner with Dressember and be a part of the network that benefit from their support!

Co-Founder & CEO of Love146, Rob Morris, joined the Next Steps Forward podcast last month. On the episode, Rob shares how Love146 was started, our current work, and the impact we're currently making in the lives of others. Rob also champions the idea behind one of our core vales at Love146 Defiant Hope in the often disheartening work of child trafficking.

Your donation allows Love146 to provide critical support to survivors. We've compiled some examples of what your donation does for survivors across our programs. For example, $100 can provide a warm winter coat and shoes for a youth in our survivor care. Whatever you give, know that it also means that after the magic of the holidays fades, Love146 will still be there to continue working with a child for as long as they need us.
