Hi Friend,
You may have seen on social media this week that hundreds of immigrant youth traveled from all across the country to DC to demand congress deliver citizenship this year. I traveled from North Carolina and I’m writing to share what went down in DC this week:
-
🕯️ I joined a vigil to honor the lives lost in immigrant detention,
-
🏛️ visited the office of my Senator to demand he vote with me in mind,
-
🗣️& marched the streets to make sure Congress gets the message that they must act now to deliver citizenship to immigrant youth!
👋I’m Axel - a DACA recipient, oldest brother to 2 younger sisters, and part of a mixed status family from North Carolina. I joined this mass mobilization because my future along with my family’s is on the line and I need Senator Tillis & Senate Leadership to deliver citizenship for myself and my community. To hear more about my story, check out UWD’s latest video & share with your followers online.

When I moved to the U.S. with my parents from Honduras in 2005, DACA didn’t exist. While the program has given me many opportunities, it’s never been enough. DACA left out my parents, and most recently left out my little sister when her application, along with thousands of others, were never processed after Trump ended the program.
Citizenship is the only path forward, Friend. I took action in DC all week, now it’s your turn to show up for our immigrant communities. 📣Can you join us in solidarity by making a call to your Congress Member today?
