This week, I was scheduled to question FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried until the Department of Justice decided otherwise. The night before a hearing where Bankman-Fried was going to answer for the billions of dollars he stole from his customers, he was arrested. While this man is a criminal who should go to jail, the timing of his arrest is suspicious.
Sam Bankman-Fried was the second largest donor to liberal politicians this past election cycle behind only George Soros, and now that he is behind bars, he cannot testify and incriminate them. The Biden Justice Department gave every Democrat in Congress an early Christmas present.
Justice will be served to Bankman-Fried, but in the meantime, every politician who took a single penny of his stolen money should return it to the victims of his scam. It’s time for investigations and accountability.
Take my survey below and keep reading for more information on what’s happening Washington.
GOODEN DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY FROM NGOs FACILITATING INVASION
On Thursday, I sent a letter to Catholic Charities, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and Jewish Family Service of San Diego demanding they preserve all evidence of possible crimes they’ve committed encouraging the invasion at our southern border. The Heritage Foundation recently released information confirming these “charities” have successfully transported illegal migrants to nearly every part of our nation. Not only that, but my office has also confirmed these organizations actively profit off our refugee system and exploit the migrant crisis. House Republicans will investigate these corrupt organizations next Congress, and I have now put them on notice.
“We are disappointed in the Justice Department for making this move when they did… I don’t understand why the Justice Department would not want him on record today in a hearing. I really do not understand why the Justice Department would not want that testimony.” -Rep. Gooden
CONGRESSMAN GOODEN RECLAIMS HIS TIME FROM MAXINE WATERS
On Tuesday, I was forced to “reclaim my time” from Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters during questioning of FTX CEO John Ray. Chairwoman Waters thinks the only Member of Congress entitled to question a witness is her. While she and other members of her party may not take the FTX scandal seriously, my Republican colleagues and I were not bought and paid for by Sam Bankman-Fried and are eager to see justice served.
House Republicans, eyeing probes, tell NGOs working with migrants at southern border to preserve docs
“A group of House Republicans, led by Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, are calling on three NGOs that work with migrants at the U.S. southern border to preserve documents and communications related to their operations – as they eye investigations into the movement of illegal immigrants into the U.S. interior.”
