Adam Schiff for Congress

John,

This week I sent a letter to Facebook urging them to extend Donald Trump’s Facebook ban beyond the two years after the assault he incited on our Capitol on January 6th.

Facebook’s self-imposed deadline to extend or terminate Trump’s account ban is coming up next month — and just last week, Trump called for the suspension of the United States Constitution on his social media app Truth Social, so he could be reinstated president. All while he made the same false claims of fraud and used the same incendiary rhetoric that got him kicked off the platform to begin with.

I mean, do I really need to go on from there? Trump used social media to fan the flames of the insurrection, and he has only gotten more extreme and dangerously unhinged since that time. After all, he is promising to pardon the people who beat police officers to keep him in power. How can that be consistent with any community standards on Facebook or anywhere else?

John, add your name to the letter I sent to Facebook urging them to extend Donald Trump’s Facebook ban so that he cannot use their platform to incite violence and undermine our democracy.

ADD YOUR NAME

It’s obvious that Trump has only grown more authoritarian in his tendencies, and more likely to spread election conspiracies such as those advanced by the losing GOP gubernatorial nominee in Arizona, Kari Lake.

Yet, Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk has already reinstated Trump’s account — even while hate speech on his platform has exploded and fanned multiple far-right and QAnon conspiracy theories.

Trump is no ordinary private citizen. He is a former president with a legion of MAGA cult followers whose violence brought irreparable harm to our democracy.

This twice-impeached, disgraced con artist has shown no remorse for the violence he incited. That should disqualify him from ever reappearing on any reputable social media platform again.

If you agree, add your name to co-sign my letter to Facebook headquarters to extend Trump’s ban.

Your voice makes a real difference in this matter — thanks for raising it today.
