I am a DACA recipient. Like so many others, I was devastated by the Fifth
Circuit decision in October ruling DACA to be unlawful. The case was sent back
to the lower court to decide the fate of the program and the futures of more
than 600,000 young immigrants whose home is here.

Once again, our lives are hanging in the balance of a court decision. I feel
angry, and anxious of what’s to come because, despite the consistent and
widespread support from the American public, Congress still has yet to pass a
permanent solution.

I know I am not alone in feeling this way. Across the country, hundreds of
thousands of people with DACA and their loved ones are grappling with
uncertainty. One thing is for sure — we at NILC, our partners, and immigrant
youth everywhere are doing everything we can to fight for our community and we
need everyone’s support in this fight.
