While 2022 marked a historic year for climate victories – the work doesn’t stop here. There are several draft EPA rules that will require a big push from our community and this is one of those moments.

Last month, the Biden Harris Administration announced a new proposal ([link removed]) that would expand the current rules for methane regulation. This is a necessary step to protect the planet, human health, and to support the transition to an equitable and just clean-energy economy.

The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) supports this rule and urges business leaders, investors, and individuals to comment and to support this rule ([link removed]) .

Polluting industries are pushing back on the Administration, claiming that they can police themselves and don't need the help and support.

Methane emissions regulation will mitigate climate risks, prevent continued harm to local communities and ecosystems, reduce pricing uncertainty and market volatility, and regulate the harmful impacts of methane to stimulate investment and innovation. This rule is a critical step in achieving a clean energy transition that prioritizes health, environmental protection, economic well being, and successful businesses across the United States.
