Our Response to Hollywood Cheering Abortion: ALIVE 2020

By: Jim Daly

I suspect few of you tuned into this weekend’s Golden Globes award show, but many may have heard about one of the more callous moments of the program when actress Michelle Williams stepped up to the microphone to accept her trophy.

Beaming, she proudly suggested the only reason she was receiving the award was because she had aborted her baby that would have otherwise derailed her career.

“I’m ... grateful to have lived in a moment in our society where choice exists. Because as women and as girls things can happen to our bodies that are not our choice,” she said. “And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose.”

American Media Mourns Death of Iranian General Soleimani, Lionizes Him as “Inspirational” and a “Hero”
By: Zachary Mettler

According to the American mainstream media, Qasem Soleimani was “brave,” “bold,” and “inspirational.”

Most Americans were glad to hear that Iranian General and terrorist Qasem Soleimani was killed in an airstrike last week, and with good reason.
Soleimani was the leader of the Iranian Quds Force, a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), that operates covertly in foreign countries and promotes terror worldwide. For example, the U.S. has accused the Quds Force of providing weapons to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and arming and training the Taliban. The U.S. also believes Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of 603 U.S. service members killed during the Iraq War.

Despite this, the mainstream media was very upset to hear the news of Soleimani’s death.

McConnell Calls Democrats’ Bluff: “We Have the Votes’ on Rules for Impeachment Trial”
By: Bruce Hausknecht

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he has enough votes to approve the procedural rules for a Senate trial on the impeachment of President Trump if and when Speaker Nancy Pelosi forwards the articles of impeachment to the Senate, The New York Times reports.

Pelosi has withheld delivery of the articles since the December 18 House vote on impeachment and has demanded the Senate first arrive at what she considers a “fair” set of rules for the Senate trial. With a twist of his political knife, McConnell announced a majority of senators have agreed the initial rules will be modeled after the President Clinton impeachment trial rules that were approved by all 100 senators in 1999.

New Annual Report Shows that Planned Parenthood Doesn’t Care About Women’s Health

By: Brittany Raymer

Earlier this week, Planned Parenthood released its latest annual report. It’s a rare inside look at one of the nation’s largest and most profitable abortion businesses. This year’s report demonstrates an important continuous trend – Planned Parenthood doesn’t care about women or their health.

When it comes to defending Planned Parenthood, the abortion business likes to put a positive spin on their work. The company argues that it provides women with essential healthcare services like cancer screenings, contraception and, on the rare instance, abortion.
But the number of women who receive those services from Planned Parenthood every year has decreased dramatically. The company’s own reports demonstrate this.

United Methodist Group Proposes Separation Plan for Bible-Believing Churches
By: Jeff Johnston

A group of leaders within the United Methodist Church (UMC) has put forth a proposal that would allow churches with a biblical view of sexuality and marriage to leave and form a new denomination.

The plan, “Protocol of Reconciliation and Grace Through Separation,” allows Methodist conferences – a group of churches in a geographical area –  to vote by 2021 on whether to join the new, conservative denomination, with a 57% majority required.
