Where were you on January 6?

That’s something most of us will remember forever, as we watched the mob sent by Trump storm the U.S. Capitol, hunt for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and try to overturn the 2020 election of Joe Biden to be our President.

Since then, it has become clear that the Jan. 6 insurrection—and all the MAGA machinations around it—were just the beginning of a campaign to delegitimize the 2020 elections and set the stage for trying to orchestrate Trump’s return to power in 2024.

Groups tracked by CMD—like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), Conservative Partnership Institute, Heritage Action, and the Republican Attorneys General Association—have been working hard all year to suppress the 2022 vote, tear down the firewalls that protected our democracy in 2020, and put pro-Trump election deniers into positions of power where they can subvert the 2024 election.

Thankfully, America’s institutions held strong this November and voters rejected many of the most extreme election deniers. But the forces that are willing to ditch democracy to seize power have not given up.

That’s why CMD launched Insurrection Exposed this month, a new website that exposes hundreds of the politicians, extremists, groups, and bankrollers that continue to pose a serious threat to the very survival of American democracy.

It’s going to take all of us to defend and improve our democracy for the next generation!
