Dear John,

Appeasement and surrender never works when dealing with radical leftist Democrats. Just last week, Congress passed another Democrat bill that had a deceptively clever name. The “Defense of Marriage Act” does nothing to defend marriage, it is actually designed to undermine traditional marriage and severely diminish religious freedom. This is the first time Congress has passed legislation requiring the states to recognize same sex-unions. Sadly, 39 Republicans supported the bill.

I’m proud to report that I voted “no” on the bill that attempts to redefine marriage and leaves the door open for more radical definitions in the future. I am proud to have opposed a bill that also removes religious freedom protections and forces even faith-based organizations to recognize and participate in gay marriage. When we broaden the definition of marriage—-essentially removing any definition or parameters of any kind---we open up the possibilities for plural marriage, child marriage, or anything else that someone wants to call “marriage”.

Of course, the Left hates my strong defense of family, marriage, and morality. And they hate your support of me as your congressman. They would love nothing more than to silence you and me.

The reality is that I need your help rebuilding my campaign war chest so that I can defend against their attacks and defeat an anticipated well-funded primary challenger.
