Delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Elmbridge

Meeting the local community groups I am supporting through this fund.
Earlier this year, Elmbridge Borough Council was awarded £1 million of government funding from the £2.6 billion UK Shared Prosperity Fund to allocate to community and business projects across Elmbridge.

Acting with the support of local community groups, I negotiated with Elmbridge Borough Council across July to ensure that three important community projects were added to the Council’s plan to invest this money.

I reached an agreement with the council to invest £350,000 into these key local community projects:
* £50,000 into the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse over two years;
* £40,000 for the Claygate Community Pool project;
* A share of £260,000 for West Molesey, Grovelands, and Hurst Pool children’s parks.

I am delighted the council accepted my proposal to fund Claygate Community Pool, three playgrounds in Molesey, and the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse in Walton – vital projects, supported by local residents, that won’t be completed successfully without this extra investment.

This week, the government approved Elmbridge's bid. I look forward to supporting the council in delivering this funding across our area.
