Dear Fellow Conservative,

Republicans now have an opportunity to bring back transparency, accountability and common sense to the House of Representatives -- and I don't want us to pass it up.

We need the next Speaker to publicly commit to real, substantive reform. I joined six other colleagues to pen a letter outlining the commitments we want to see from the next Speaker. We are calling on a Speaker who will:
* Support bills that are focused, amendable and readable and about a single subject with 72 hours to read before the vote.
* Be neutral in Republican Primaries
* Include conservatives on more Committees
* Propose a firm plan to end limitless spending so the budget balances within 10 years or less
* Use power of purse and "must-pass" legislation to fight for the American people
* Form one, central Committee to investigate weaponized government

For years, the House leadership of both parties has increasingly centralized decision-making power around fewer and fewer individuals, at the expense of deliberation and input by the body. This results in massive, multi-subject spending bills that are unable to be amended or fully read, all driven by supposedly "must-pass" defense and appropriations measures.

In the process, we've amassed trillions of dollars in debt, empowered administration bureaucrats who target citizens, and failed to carry out our basic duties to defend the American People. We need a conservative check on the Washington Establishment.

The American people are fed up with corrupt, swampy tactics of Congress. We owe it to our constituents to fight for the conservative and constitutional positions we ran on. The next Speaker of the House has a golden opportunity to enact real change so that our chamber of Congress can live up to its name, "The People's House."
