Dear John, Thank you again for the amazing year that we had. We are proud of the just under $500,000 you--the Blue Amp Action community--donated to Democratic candidates and progressive causes across the country. Don't think this didn't make a difference. We sure didn't get everything right, but we knew to ignore the conventional wisdom of a Red Wave (LOL). We saw Gen Z voting their hearts out, women ditching the GOP over abortion rights and college-educated suburban Republicans leaving the party over its attack on democracy. Some said it was a waste to talk about these subjects, that people only cared about economics. We knew they were wrong. And they were. Here are some of the things we accomplished together with Democrats across the country: *We brought the Mary Peltola and Greg Landsman races in Alaska and Ohio to Blue Amp's attention when many thought we couldn't win them, and in both we beat GOP seditionists (goodbye Sarah Palin!) and elected great Democrats! * We also thought the numbers and enthusiasm was telling us a story that Democrats, the media and Republicans were not taking Adam Frisch's candidacy vs Lauren Boebert seriously enough. We supported him and in the end, in a +6 GOP district out of over 327,000 votes cast, we only lost by 540! * We also knew we could hold onto the Senate or even increase our margin no matter what the naysayers blathered about on cable and in the pages of the NY Times--I mean had you seen our candidates? And theirs!?!? Again, we were right. We gained Senator John Fetterman. Democrats succeeded in protecting Senators Mark Kelly, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock and more … with plenty of help from the Blue Amp Action community! Grassroots Democrats like you made it so Republicans had to spend $50 million to beat Tim Ryan, and many millions more to beat Cheri Beasley and Mandela Barnes--all of whom ran great races. And while they were spending gobs of money eking out these wins, they weren't spending it against Kelly, Cortez Masto, Hassan, etc. This made a HUGE difference. And it made this the first cycle when a President's party didn't lose Senate seats since Franklin Roosevelt in 1934! * Democrats defeated every ballot measure attacking abortion. Every. Single. One. And we picked up state legislative chambers in Minnesota, Pennsylvania and both in Michigan, gaining legislative seats in several other states. This was only the third time that happened in favor of the President's party in a midterm since 1900! And Democrats elected and re-elected great governors in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and many other contested states. We stopped lunatics like Don Bolduc, Doug Mastriano and Kari Lake. And, if we're being honest, it was decisions by Republican judges in New York, Ron DeSantis' authoritarian gerrymandering in Florida--which the Court allowed to stand for this election--and Republicans' refusal to fully follow the state court ruling in Ohio on gerrymandering that won the House for them. Cheating, it's what they do. Thank you for everything you’ve been part of accomplishing this year. And Happy Holidays to you all!
