Dear John,
Donald Trump stoked a violent insurrection to overturn the 2020 presidential election. He’s under criminal investigation for taking highly classified documents from the White House. And the Trump Organization was just convicted of 17 counts of criminal tax fraud.
And yet Trump STILL leads in most 2024 Republican presidential primary polls.
My friends, the threat of Donald Trump returning to the White House is too great a risk to take. But he can be stopped. Right now. Let me tell you how.
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that anyone who has taken an oath to protect the Constitution can be barred from public office if they have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the United States.
Remind you of anyone?
In fact, a judge in New Mexico recently used the 14th Amendment to ban a January 6 insurrectionist and county commissioner from ever holding office again. If the 14th Amendment applies to an obscure local official, then it certainly applies to Trump.
But this won’t happen as long as the media and members of Congress treat enforcement of the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause as some radical, fringe idea. So the team at Inequality Media Civic Action is launching a campaign across all our social media platforms using viral videos, explainers, and other super-shareable content to educate the public and demand that Donald Trump be barred from holding office.
Will you donate to help ramp up our campaign to get the truth out and bar Donald Trump from holding office under the 14th Amendment?
It was just last week that Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to call for the “termination” of the U.S. Constitution in order to overturn the 2020 election.
Perhaps the reason he wants to terminate the Constitution is that he knows about the 14th Amendment’s prohibition on insurrectionists serving in public office?
It is not unprecedented to bar an official from public office under the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause. As I mentioned, it’s already been applied to a January 6 insurrectionist: former New Mexico County Commissioner Couy Griffin.
In the months leading up to January 6, Griffin openly stoked violence to keep Trump in office, even once telling a crowd that “the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat.” He also voted twice against certifying New Mexico’s 2020 primary election, based on conspiracy theories about the security of voting machines.
This case proves that it is possible to expel public officials who violate their oaths to the Constitution, and bar them from holding public office now or in the future. And yes, that absolutely must include Donald Trump.
The first step to enforcing the 14th Amendment and barring Trump from office is to educate the public about this provision in the first place. We know the corporate media won’t do that, so we need to do it ourselves.
The team at Inequality Media has built a following of over 7 million people across our social media platforms. This year alone, our videos have been seen 100 million times. Now, we’re harnessing this massive network to make sure Donald Trump is banned from holding public office ever again.
But to ramp up this campaign to the scale we need to make sure every American knows the truth, we need your help.
Which is why I’m asking you today: Will you donate to Inequality Media Civic Action and help educate the public about how we can bar Donald Trump from ever serving in public office again?
Thanks for all you do.
