The Phrase ‘You've Got This’ Needs To Die
[[link removed]]
You’ve heard it a time or two; you’ve probably said it once or twice yourself.
But today, Diana Park is railing against a very popular phrase: “You’ve got
this.”

She writes: “When a family member said it to me as I was crying on our lunch
date, explaining how I didn’t even know how to tackle this new life of mine, it
spit me into a tunnel of rage. It didn’t encourage me at all. And it certainly
didn’t make me feel more capable. It made me feel like they were saying: ‘I
don’t know what to tell you but deal with it.’” Maybe you feel the same… or
maybe it’ll open your eyes.

It's Hard Being The Only One In The Family With Kids During The Holidays

“As the oldest of three

I always naively assumed we would be raising kids at the same time,” admits Samm
Davidson. But that’s not how it worked out, which adds a tricky new layer to the
holidays: “With no cousins or other family members

with young kids, I bring all the chaos: the tantrums, the messes, and the
bedtime constraints. And sometimes, it stresses me out.” Give it a read.
