John,
President Biden promised to champion climate justice and advance solutions
as our President — but today, he betrayed frontline communities by
announcing his support for Senator Joe Manchin’s Dirty Deal.
Manchin’s “Dirty Deal” provision would build out new fossil fuel
infrastructure and reinforce U.S. energy ties with Big Oil. Despite the
fact that Senator Manchin’s Dirty Deal has drawn opposition from both
parties and frontline communities for fast-tracking pipeline permits,
President Biden released a statement today in support of the proposal,
claiming it would cut energy bills.
John, this is
incredibly disappointing. President Biden must PHASE OUT fossil fuel
projects, NOT endorse them!

Manchin’s Dirty Deal, and we need your help. Will you add your name to the
petition to President Biden today?

President Biden claims to prioritize climate justice — something he did
when he revoked the licenses for the Keystone XL pipeline.
Yet today’s statement of support for Manchin’s Dirty Deal is an affront to
all that Biden says he stands for. Frontline communities and environmental
advocates have been crystal clear: Manchin’s permitting proposal will
fast-track fossil fuel projects and exacerbate the harm already being felt
disproportionately across the US and globally.
We need to phase out fossil fuel projects swiftly and completely. That’s
the only way to move forward with a just transition to an equitable,
renewable energy future. We call on Biden to move forward with integrity
and advance real climate solutions. And that means ensuring that the
Government is no longer making loopholes for more fossil fuel projects. We
need to move forward, not backwards.

your name to our petition today demanding that President Biden revoke
support of Manchin’s Dirty Deal and stand with frontline communities.
In solidarity,
