Dear
Friend
—
We are just days away from Vice Mayor Rex Richardson being sworn
into office as our city's next mayor. Mayor-Elect Richardson has
proven himself over these past several years to be an effective leader
who is focused on service. The work that he has done for his
constituents in North Long Beach and across the city is a clear
testament to that.
I hope that you will join us on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at the Long
Beach Terrace Theater to celebrate his historic swearing-in and
recognize the other newly elected and re-elected council members and
officers. You can RSVP for the inauguration here.
The other elected officials being sworn in include:
- Dawn McIntosh, City Attorney
- Doug Haubert, City Prosecutor
- Laura Doud, City Auditor
- Mary Zendejas, Council District 1
- Kristina Duggan, Council District 3
- Megan Kerr, Council District 5
- Roberto Uranga, Council District 7
- Dr. Joni Ricks-Oddie, Council District 9
In addition to the ceremony on Dec. 20, to welcome the Mayor-Elect
and the new and reinstated Councilmembers, residents are encouraged to
give back to their neighborhoods by participating in the Long Beach
Inauguration Service Day on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022. More information
on where to volunteer and how to participate can be found here.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you and Go Long Beach,
Mayor Robert Garcia
