John, there is no such thing as an off-year, particularly for organizers and mobilizers.

We’ll be out expanding the electorate all year, every year, because Pennsylvania will have several crucial elections on the ballot in 2023, including State Supreme Court, mayoral races and special legislative elections.

Given the close partisan balance in both of these bodies, every one of these elections could have huge implications for the Commonwealth. We will be focusing on civic education around the local, municipal and judicial elections, and continuing to build power within the communities we center to expand the electorate in 2023 as we lead up to 2024.

Yet we’re just halfway through the last month of 2022, and we’re already seeing the beginning of a massive fundraising slump, John. After all our expenses on Georgia’s runoff election, that’s a big problem. Will you donate $10 right now to help us get back on track to our $10,000 end-of-year goal and continue our year-round organizing to expand the electorate?

-------------------------------------------------------

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in underrepresented immigrant communities and communities of color. We register communities to vote, provide civic education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize Pennsylvanians to vote in every election.
