New Courses In the NASN Learning Center | Student-Centered Systems Change: Activating the Framework
This session utilizes the Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™ to develop a plan for systems change that has the potential to exert a positive impact on student health. Presenters demonstrate implementation of the Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™ via school nurse advocacy for needed change in the board of nursing delegation guidance to allow implementation of evidence-based practice in the school setting. This session, originally introduced at Virtual NASN2021, is now accessible in the NASN Learning Center. The youth mental health crisis leads to meager academic performance, inferior health outcomes, and increased risk for suicide and substance abuse. Early intervention, mental health promotion, and prevention techniques have had positive results. In this course, first presented at Virtual NASN2021, now available in the NASN Learning Center, participants learn the fundamentals of youth mental health disorder recognition and management and how to recognize, react and understand the signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. CDC Urges Masking Return as Tripledemic Surges | |
A surge in cases of influenza, COVID-19, and RSV has been sickening millions of Americans, overwhelming emergency rooms, and reducing the availability of pediatric OTC medications. The CDC's map that tracks COVID-19 community levels has been showing more areas of "high" infection.
"To protect communities in those circumstances at those high levels, we have recommended and continue to recommend that those communities wear masks," Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, said. Read the full article.
