Campaign for Childcare 4 All in the San Fernando Valley!

Join us for a family field day and tabling event for DSA-LA’s Childcare For All campaign. We will have snacks, crayons, coloring books, bubble dispensers, and frisbees and literature to hand out. Carpooling available. 

Labor Committee Holiday Celebration

Come celebrate the holiday of winning! Join us for fun as we celebrate all the wins we have had this year. We have had a great year of strike solidarity and building working-class power with only more to come.

Voting for 2023 DSA-LA Local Officers and Branch Coordinators is happening now! Ballots were emailed to DSA-LA members in good standing on Tuesday, December 13th. Voting will close at 11:59 PM on Monday, December 19th, with results announced the following day once votes have been counted.

Single-Payer Healthcare in California Needs Your Help: Tell CA Dems to Introduce the CalCare bill

Due to updates from the CA legislature, we are concerned that the new CalCare bill—which would develop single-payer healthcare in CA—is at risk of not being introduced. We need your help contacting your representatives to demand that they introduce the bill!
 
Democrats have increased their supermajority, which will allow them to pass bills and budgets without a single Republican vote. They control 62 of 80 Assembly seats and 31 of 40 Senate seats. It simply cannot wait another year.
 

The Healthcare Justice Committee is asking members to contact assemblymembers and state senators to demand that the CalCare bill is introduced next year.

The Mutual Aid book club: DRAMA-“On Practice”

The Mutual Aid Subcommittee DRAMA will be reading and discussing  “On Practice” written in 1937 by Chairman Mao Tse-tung. This article will discuss selected works on topics that surround the relationship between knowledge and practice, and how these aspects can and do shape the activism and revolutionary thought that comrades hold.

Foodservice Labor Circle

Across the country, foodservice workers are organizing in their workplaces and building worker power. If you work in a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, or other food establishment, join us at our biweekly meetings and help build a movement for solidarity and power within our industry, within our city.
