John, By inciting the attack on the US Capitol in an effort to prevent the certification of his own electoral defeat, Donald Trump engaged in a violent insurrection and violated his oath of office. Meanwhile, his allies in Congress gave aid and comfort to the insurrection and publicly supported this seditious attack. Neither Trump nor his Congressional allies have been held accountable. Trump’s candidacy for reelection in 2024 is putting our democracy to the test. It will decide whether we adhere to the Constitution and prevent insurrectionists from taking power.
