Dear Friend,

On Tuesday, the strongest of hundreds of earthquakes, since December 28th, hit the island of Puerto Rico. Almost 2/3 of the island is without power, and many don’t have access to clean water.

On the northeastern coast in Loíza, families are bracing for future earthquakes. Loíza is below sea level, and if a tsunami were to hit there is no good escape route. There is a rock formation in an evacuation zone and they need emergency backpacks so that they can survive for multiple days before help arrives. Will you help families in Loíza?

Since early Tuesday morning, I’ve been in contact with Danalis Dávila, an incredible community organizer who is leading the charge to ensure her community stays safe in the event of a tsunami in Loíza.

216 families in Loíza need backpacks filled with life-saving supplies. Danalis is asking Faith in Action to help provide her community with the resources they need to be prepared.
