Last week we sounded the alarm and you all began to answer. But we are not done yet. Tuesday, Senator Schumer introduced the bill to the floor to be added as an amendment to the National Defense and Authorization Act (NDAA). We have just received word from legislative aides that the deal could be voted on TODAY.
In order for Senator Manchin to be successful on
his third attempt he will need 60 votes in the Senate. According to policy analysts, the newer version of the bill is worse and will unleash even more damage in our communities through an increased weakening of NEPA protections in some areas, due to negotiations with Republican Senators. WE NEED YOU TO ACT NOW!
Call your Senators at 202-224-3121 TODAY (we are trying to create momentum before the vote) and tell them to oppose this dirty deal and kill this zombie bill once and for all? Once you make the call, share this action online with others. We can and will stop it again!

Hi, my name is ____, & I’m from ____. As your constituent I’m calling to demand that you do all you can to stop Senator Manchin’s dirty “permitting” proposal from being
attached to any must pass legislation, including the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act). Protecting our communities and climate is more important and we must ensure a JUST transition away from fossil fuels now and protect communities' rights to be free from harm in the process. Stand with environmental justice communities impacted by fossil fuels and the climate crisis and stop this so-called permitting reform from being attached to must pass legislation, including the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act).

Citizens and states should have the right to protect themselves.
