Dear John, In this season of giving, we're excited to share this opportunity to support the exciting work happening at the Community Organizing Alliance (COA).
COA, led by Safiya Khalid, is a newly created organization that seeks to center the experiences and voices of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) to be civically engaged and involved in their communities. Formed in 2022, COA aspires to create an inclusive democracy where all individuals regardless of nationality and background are heard and empowered. Read on to learn more about COA’s Listening, Education, and Organizing (LEO) programs. We hope you will consider a gift to COA today! |

Thank You!
Since the launch of Community Organizing Alliance (COA) seven months ago, we've completed three LEO program cohorts that have enrolled over 50 BIPOC young adults! Additionally, we have collaborated and partnered with community organizations to organize community events and activities such as the Back to School event. As the Founder Safiya Khalid intended, COA increased voter turnout in the 2022 midterm elections. COA and its volunteers knocked on over 1,000 doors and called over 8,000 voters in the state. Although it may seem like we’ve done a lot, we've only scratched the surface of creating an equitable, just Maine for all! We couldn't have done it without the help of contributions, volunteers, and connections!
