I’m no stranger to tough fights, folks.

When I became Chief of Staff to President Obama’s auto task force, I kept hearing the same thing over and over again: “Let Detroit go bankrupt” and “You’ll never save those jobs.”

But then we got organized, fought back, and ended up saving TWO MILLION jobs in the auto industry—200,000 of which were right here in Michigan.

While I loved working for the auto industry, I wanted to do more. I felt that I could make an even bigger impact and do even greater things for my community. The decision I made to run for public office in 2017 ended up being one of the best decisions of my life.

Don’t get me wrong, campaigning has never been easy.

From the minute I announced, skeptics doubted my ability to flip Michigan’s 11th District from red to blue. National Republicans spent millions against me.

But I never gave up. And thanks to your support, I recently became the first Democrat ever elected to represent MI-11 for three consecutive terms in Congress.

I’ve loved every second of serving Michigan’s 11th District, but I know my work is far from over.

I’m continuing to fight for our working families every day I’m in Washington, but I won’t be able to keep fighting without your continued support, folks.
